How can I purchase a ticket?

Tickets can be purchased one of three ways: 1. Purchase in person at Detroit Garden Works using cash, check or credit card, purchase by phone from Detroit Garden Works (248-335-8089) using a credit card, or order online.

Is the ticket tax deductible?

Yes, the cost of the ticket is tax deductible.

Will tickets be sold at each of the gardens?

No, there will be no ticket sales at any of the gardens.

Where are the gardens?

Patrons will receive a ticket which contains addresses and maps to each of the gardens.

What is The Greening of Detroit?

The Greening of Detroit, is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization, established in 1989 to guide and inspire the reforestation of Detroit. More recently, The Greening's mission is to guide and inspire others to create a 'greener' Detroit through planting and educational programs, environmental leadership, advocacy, and by building community capacity.

Do the Gardens need to be viewed in order?

No, feel free to visit the gardens in any order you like. If you plan to purchase a ticket for the tour and cocktail reception, you might consider working your way towards Pontiac to finish your tour at the “Corgi Run” garden. From there, Detroit Garden Works is just 5 minutes away.

Is there a lot of walking?

Several of the properties are large, and some feature dramatic grade changes. Wear proper footwear for walking and stay on the sidewalks, paths, and grass.

Can I take photos or shoot video?

Please remember that this is a garden tour, not a house tour. Please respect the homeowners and limit photographs or video to the landscape and gardens only.

Where do we park?

Parking is permitted on the street only.

What if it rains?

The tour will operate rain or shine.

When and where is the cocktail reception?

The cocktail reception will be held at Detroit Garden Works which is located at 1794 Pontiac Drive in Sylvan Lake (click for Google map). The reception will begin at 4pm.
